'The Beard' Selected to Compete in CBC's Short Film Face Off!

Some incredibly great news this weekend, as The Beard has been selected to represent the GTA in CBC's Short Film Face Off! Now in its third season on national television, the critically acclaimed show consists of short films from across Canada competing against one another.  The Beard, along with other selected films, will be screened for studio audiences and a panel of industry professionals, who provide commentary and discuss the creative and technical aspects of the films.  Winning films are chosen by a studio and online audience.

I am incredibly excited and honoured to be part of this competition!  More than anything though, with the The Beard being televised for the first time, I think it's a great opportunity to have the film viewed by a much larger audience than ever before!

The four-part series will air on CBC Television on Saturdays, August 17 – September 7 (tentative).

Written and directed by Yaz Rabadi, The Beard tells the story of an elderly Sikh (Sam Moses) who has been victimized as a result of his racial appearance, and how he struggles to deal with his given circumstances in the aftermath of the violent attack.
